And Finally India Lost the match by 337 runs. That’s all from the first test match in Melbourne Cricket Ground. Australia won the toss and elected to bat and scored 343 runs and then India got all out on 196, in second inning Australia scored 351 for seven and then all out India on 161. Hence, Team India lost the match with 337 runs.
4th Day of Play:
Team India is on the verge of a great loss:
Now it is almost sure that India is going to loose this match very soon. At 10:53 AM India is struggling at 158 for the loss of nine wickets. Three wickets fell at a gap of 4 balls and that incident put India on complete back foot.
3rd Day of Play:
Ultimately Australia declared their innings at 351 for 7 and taken a lead of 498 runs. Hence Team India will require 499 runs to win the match which seems quite impossible. At the end of the third day’s play India is on 6 for no loss and Dravid and Jaffer will have to play sensible cricket.
Bhajji is back with three wicket haul and Australia is now at 334 for 7 and still 16 more overs to go today. Hopefully India can restrict them by today only.
Australia is batting at 261 for 5 wickets and India seems to be in trouble. Clarke is not out at 59 and seems to play a long inning. Right now at 10:21 AM Australia has a lead of 408 runs. Still they have 5 more wickets in hand.
Team India is on back foot:
At Stump on Day 2 Australia is at 32 for no loss. Hayden is playing at 22 and seems to play a big inning once again.
Team India got out for a low score of 196, and Australia is again batting at 24 for no loss. Hopefully India have to go through a tough phase ahead.
India is in a bad stage in the second day of the match. They are struggling at 173 for 7.
Batting first Australia was doing fine, thanks to 124 run scored by ML Hayden, they seems in a good condition. When Ricky Ponting won the toss and elected to bat, Matthew Hayden and Phil Jaques performed so strongly that at one point they were batting at 135 for no loss, and people were thinking that India have to wait for a long time for their batting.
